Identify The Cause Of Eye Irritation and How To Overcome

Eye infections can be caused by attacks of various kinds of diseases. Eye irritation is generally caused by infection with bacteria, viruses or foreign objects. People who wear contact lenses are more prone to eye infections due to bacteria.



Several types of common eye infection that causes irritation:
  • Eye conjunctivitis or pink eye: It is irritating and makes red eye. This type of eye infection disease, the most common one. The infection is caused by the air that carries the disease can then be exposed to our eyes so we must remain cautious.
  • Stye: Medically known as hordeolum. This disease is very easy to recognize because there are small bumps formed on the eyelids or in the base of the eyelashes.
  • Blepharitis: Usually eyelid inflammation in these conditions can also cause burning eyes, itching and irritation.
  • Orbital cellulitis: The disease is caused by inflammation or infection in the area around the eyes. But sometimes it can be serious as loss of vision, if necessary treatment is not provided.
  • Keratitis: Known as corneal ulcers. Usually it is caused by injury to the cornea of the eye caused by a foreign object.
  • Dacryocystitis: This disease is caused due to an infection of the tear duct.
Symptoms of eye irritation
Some common symptoms and signs of eye irritation is
  • constant itching,
  • swelling of the eyes,
  • watery eyes,
  • blurred vision and red eyes,
  • yellow or green discharge,
  • and pain in the eyes.

There are some natural remedies to cure eye irritation

1. You should avoid chlorinated swimming exercise to avoid irritation.
2. Medicinal herbs are very effective eyewash, only using 1 teaspoon herb eye brightener (eyebright) dry in 1 liter of boiling water. Allow to cool and then strain the liquid. And ready to be used as medicine eyewash. 
3. Honey is very effective as a cure eye irritation. You can use directly to the eye or can make honey eyewash, as the treatment of eye disorders. Take three tablespoons of honey in two cups of boiling water. Leave to cool and then use it as an eyewash.
4. Apply grated potatoes and place it on your eyes. Potatoes are a natural astringent and helps to disinfect.
5. An Ayurvedic medicine from ingredients like coriander, fennel and cardamom useful when experiencing irritation or inflammation. Add 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds, boiling water and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Then strain. Use a sterile cotton ball and wash on your eyes for 15 minutes. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
