The researchers interviewed 3,430 Saudi citizens aged 30 to 70 years. They were asked to fill out a quiz about dietary habits, history of smoking, drinking coffee, sports, and other factors. Only six percent of those diagnosed with coronary heart disease. Drinking tea has a habit in Saudi Arabia. Approximately 90 percent of respondents involved in this study consume tea every day. The researchers found that those who drank more than six cups of tea a day (which accounted for 20 percent of respondents) have an increased risk of heart disease 50 percent lower than those who did not drink tea.

These findings remain valid, even though the researchers had to adjust with other risk factors such as smoking, obesity, cholesterol levels, and lifestyles that are less sedentary. In general, people who suffer from heart disease tend to be a bit of tea consumption than those who are healthy, which is 3.5 cups versus 4.5 cups per day.

The relationship between drinking tea with heart health
The researchers explained that the flavanoids found in tea can lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke by 12 percent. It applies to those who consume three cups of tea a day.
